2023 AIFST Summer School

2023 AIFST Summer School - Virtual Event

Over the years, the AIFST Summer School has brought students together to engage in opportunities to learn, be inspired and promote individual research projects. In 2023, the AIFST Summer School will be held on 22nd & 23rd February as a virtual event for all students.  Thank you to our event partners Evolve Scientific Recruitment and Edlyn Foods.

The theme for this year is The Future of Food - your role - collaboration & innovation and aims to engage students in the many disciplines of food science for the future and how to prepare to play a role in the enormous growth opportunities of Australia’s food manufacturing sector. Students also have the opportunity to hone their presentations skills. Abstract submissions are now closed.

Over the course of two days, attendees will:

    • Build their professional food industry network among their peers, industry and academia. 
    • Be exposed to food industry opportunities through industry guest speakers, who can provide insight and advice on prospective career paths. Speakers may also be able to reflect on their experiences with post-study in both research and industry. 
    • Be involved in a Careers opportunity, gain insight from potential food industry employers and ask those burning questions.
    • Gain opportunities to meet and talk with peers, academics and industry personnel with expertise and knowledge in different areas and start to make those career connections.
