Young Professionals & Mentoring Virtual Networking lunch

Date: Thursday October 14, 2021

Time: 1.00 - 2.30pm (AEDT)

About:

Join AIFST and our partner Charles River Microbial Solutions for this virtual networking lunch. Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to network virtually with Tara and our AIFST mentors.

Presentation: Utilising Science to provide Next Generation Solutions for Microbial Identification and Detection

Speaker: Tara Cassidy, Applications Development Specialist, Microbial Solutions

Tara will provide a brief overview of CRL and the products they offer and then discuss new science and the options for microbial identification based on new science (NGS will be a big focus). Tara will also discuss the options for research outside of an academic area by looking into the cutting edge science they are investigating as an R&D team.

Tara's overall goal is to help young students understand there are many options to work in research and also enter the workforce with some knowledge about the newer technologies that are not common practice for most testing labs.
