The award celebrates individuals, teams or organisations that have made significant contributions to improving food safety through research, education, advocacy, or practical application. It highlights leadership and commitment to ensuring a safer food supply for all Australians. The 2026 award winner is Jasmine Lacis-Lee. Jasmine Lacis-Lee, has dedicated more than 25 years to improving food safety across the Australian and international agrifood sectors. As Director of the Food Science Centre at Mérieux NutriSciences AQ, President of the Allergen Bureau, founding Co-Chair of EHEDG Australia, and an Australian representative to Codex and the FAO/WHO Expert Consultation on Food Allergens, Jasmine has played a pivotal role in advancing allergen management, hygienic design and food safety standards. Through her leadership in developing the VITAL® allergen risk assessment framework, technical guidance, industry training and international food safety standards, she has helped shape safer food systems for industry and consumers alike.
