Technical Webinar: Epidemiology of Food Safety Outbreaks Webinar
12.30pm - 1.30pm Thursday, 5 October 2017
When a foodborne disease outbreak is detected, public health and regulatory officials work quickly to collect as much information as possible to find out what is causing it, so they can take action to prevent more people from getting sick. Three types of data: epidemiologic, trace back, and food and environmental testing are used. Hear from our industry experts about how they use epidemiologic data to study outbreaks and identify risk factors.
Our guest speakers Dr Craig Shadbolt, Manager - Food Incident Response & Complaints at NSW Food Authority and Keira Glasgow, Manager - Enteric & Zoonotic Diseases at Communicable Diseases Branch, Health Protection NSW will be sharing their expertise on  how outbreaks are picked up and investigated  and appropriate food control strategy.
