The Vic branch offers a student award: The Prize of Excellence.
6.8.2.1 The Prize of Excellence
(a) The Prize of Excellence is awarded to the top final year student in food science and technology at tertiary institutes with a degree course in Food Science and Technology or related courses.
(b) The Prize will be awarded on the recommendation of an appropriate, designated senior staff member of the discipline within the institution. Under certain circumstances (such as a tie), student attitude and demonstrated commitment to the profession may be taken into account.
(c) Institutions are contacted at the end of the academic year and students are contacted prior to the Annual Meeting.
(d) Each winner receives a certificate and one year free membership to the Institute, presented at the Branch Annual Meeting.
