Monday's opening Plenary session includes -.

 

- The JR Vickery Address, Global Trends and opportunities in food nutritional sciences will be given by Dr Martin Cole, the new Chief of CSIRO Food & Nutritional Sciences.

 

- The future of food is addressed by Marianne Gillette, IFT President, McCormick Foods, USA..

 

- Marketing Perspective - Body/Mind/Passion by Suzanne Douglas, Managing Director, Heinz Australia.

 

Monday's sessions include Superfoods - case studies and success factors, a global view by Julian Mellentin, Nutrition Business, New Zealand.

 

International acclaimed marketer David McKinna, of McKinna et al addresses Shifts in the market place.

 

Not to be missed - and an excellent opportunity to get your own point across - is the nutrition hot topic - Obesity: are Government and food industry doing enough to downsize Australian's waistlines?Moderated by ABC's Norman Swan, with a panel of industry professionals, the outcome hoped for is a directive for positive action to fight this very important issue.

 

Tuesday's sessions kick off with a keynote address Food safety management by international food safety expert Dr Yasmine Motarjemi, Switzerland (recently from Nestle and before then the World Health Organisation).
