The South Australia Branch presents two awards each year.
- Adelaide University Student Prize
- University of South Australia Student Prize
6.8.3.1 Adelaide University Student Prize
(a) The prize is to be known as “The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Prize”.
(b) The value of the prize will be $250 and will be accompanied with a Certificate of Award issued by the Institute.
(c) The prize will be awarded to the student who has obtained the highest aggregate mark in the Bachelor of Food Science & Technology.
(d) Where two or more candidates are eligible for the prize and are of equal merit, the prize shall be shared equally among them.
(e) If in any year the Faculty considers that no candidate is of sufficient merit, no award will be made.
(f) These rules may be varied from time to time by the Faculty in consultation with the Institute but the title and purpose of the prize shall not be changed.
6.8.3.2 University of South Australia Student Prize
The South Australia Branch offers a prize to the student who performs best in the final year of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Food Science and Nutrition) program, offered through the UNISA School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences.
(a) The Prize is to be known as “The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Prize”.
(b) The value of the prize will be $250 and will be accompanied with a Certificate of Award issued by the Institute.
(c) The prize will be awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the final year of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Food Science and Nutrition) program until end 2008, then to be awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the final year of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Food Sciences program.
