This award recognises outstanding outstanding contribution to the Institute, and may be award to a member of the Institute (either Corporate or Non-Corporate), a non-member of the Institute, any organisation or company.

Nomination by two corporate members, not exceeding 1000 words, should be forwarded for the attention of the President.
Full Conditions
- The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology may recognise, acknowledge and acclaim an individual or an organisation that has made an outstanding contribution to the Institute.
- This Award shall be known as the AIFST President's Award.
- A nominee for the Award may be a member of the Institute (either Corporate or Non-Corporate), a non-member of the Institute, any organisation or company.
- The Award may be made at the discretion of Council.
- There may be more than one recipient in any one year.
- The recipient(s) of the Award shall receive an inscribed certificate and an inscribed plaque presented by the President of the Institute, or the President's nominee.
- Council shall call for nominations for the Award in the Official Journal of the Institute at a time not later than six (6) months prior to the date of presentation, and shall include a return address. Council shall place the notice in the official Journal annually, giving a brief summary of the Award conditions.
- A nomination for the Award shall be proposed by two Corporate Members of the Institute. Each nomination shall be accompanied by adequate support documentation, not exceeding 1000 words. Nominations will be forwarded to Council. All nominations will be strictly confidential and only the President or the President's nominee shall release any details regarding the nominations.
- Council should take into account the following factors when considering each nomination: the nature of the contribution to the Institute; the significance of the contribution to the Institute.
- Council shall vote separately on each and every nomination received. Any nominee that receives two-thirds or more of the available votes will be invited to accept the Award.
- The President shall invite the successful nominee(s) to accept the AIFST President's Award and shall inform the nominee(s) of the time and place of presentation of the Award(s).
- The President or the President's nominee shall present the Award(s) at an appropriate time and place decided by Council.
- In the event of the death of an Awardee before the time of presentation of the Award, the Award may be presented posthumously.
- An Awardee cannot receive more than one AIFST President's Award.
