This competition, which involves development of a new food product, is open to groups of undergraduate AIFST student members.
This years competition was won by Jessica Florence, & Afrizal, from Deakin University, with their "So Chicky" soy-chickpea cracker with chia and poppy seeds.

The AIFST National Convention is held annually, and is the major national food technology conference in Australia, attracting industry, research and government organisations from Australia and overseas.
In 2012, the convetion will be held in Adelaide, with the theme: Reaping the Rewards. As society in Australia and internationally ‘reaps the rewards’ of food science and technology, Australian food technologists should also ‘reap the rewards’ in our profession.
